The Great Flood

The Great Flood tells the story of Mose, his grandpa Leon, their friends the professor and the mayor, and the adventures they undergo at sea and in a land high on a mountaintop that appears to be the only dry place left after the flood.
It’s a hair-raising tale that you might want to read with your eyes closed, but it’s also hysterically funny – the craziness and satire explode from the pages. It takes place in the future, yet for that very reason it says a great deal about the times we live in today. But for all that, The Great Flood is mainly a touching tale about friendship and trust.

Press on The Great Flood:
The Great Flood is a pitch-black parody of what awaits us if we fail to act, as well as a passionate appeal to start thinking about what’s really important: love, joy, art and humanity. But more than anything else, it’s a futuristic novel with plenty of laughs.’ – de Volkskrant
‘A brilliant satirical catastrophe novel, written with such fervor and total authenticity that you want to read it in one go.’ – Trouw
‘Right from the opening scene you find yourself hurtling through a frenzied adventure, where Kuyper’s cynical humor explodes off the page and nothing goes unmentioned.’ – NRC Handelsblad
